GigMap Support & FAQ

Quick answers about posting gigs, reviews, staying safe, and your account. Still stuck? Email us at contact.gigmap@gmail.com.

How do I post a gig?

Open the GigMap app, go to the Gigs tab, and tap the + button. Then:

  1. Describe the job and pick a category, or type your own.
  2. Set your pay: fixed, hourly, daily, or negotiable.
  3. Add a preferred date, urgency, photos, and any skills needed.
  4. Post it. Your gig shows on the map in your general area. Your exact location stays private.

Nearby people can find your gig and message you in the app. Want to offer your skills instead? Use Post a Service to create a service listing with pricing and a portfolio.

How do reviews work?

When a job is done, it can be marked complete in the chat, and both sides can review each other with 1 to 5 stars and an optional comment. Every profile shows its rating, reviews, and completed jobs, so you can check someone out before you hire or take a gig.

  • Only review people you've actually worked with.
  • To keep ratings fair, you can leave at most 3 reviews for the same person.
  • If you see a fake or abusive review, report it to us (see below).

What are some safety tips?

GigMap connects people but doesn't employ, verify, or guarantee users, and it doesn't process payments. A few habits go a long way:

  • Check reviews and completed jobs before you hire or accept work.
  • Keep conversations in the GigMap chat.
  • Agree on scope, price, and payment method before any work starts.
  • Meet in a safe, public place first when you can, and share your location with a friend.
  • Use licensed professionals for regulated work like electrical or plumbing.
  • Never pay a stranger up front to "unlock" a job. Real gigs don't ask for that.
  • Report or block anyone suspicious from their profile or the gig's menu.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account.

Can't get into the app? Request deletion on our account deletion page, or email contact.gigmap@gmail.com from the address on your account. Deletion removes your profile, gigs, services, messages, and reviews, and may take up to 30 days.
